Who is responsible for your information?

Harry Didwell, trading as Noren Web Studio, is the data controller for the personal information described in this notice.

Information we collect

If you submit the quote form or contact us directly, we may collect:

• your name, business name and contact details;
• your existing website address, if supplied;
• information about your business, proposed website and approximate budget;
• messages, quotes and other correspondence; and
• technical information processed by our hosting provider, such as an IP address, browser information and request logs, for security and reliable operation.

Please do not include sensitive personal information in the quote form.

How and why we use it

We use this information to respond to enquiries, understand what a prospective client needs, prepare quotes, communicate about projects, provide agreed services, maintain business records and protect the website from misuse.

Our legal bases are normally taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, performing a contract, complying with legal obligations, and our legitimate interests in running and protecting a web-design business. We do not use quote requests to add people to marketing lists.

Who receives the information?

Quote-form submissions are processed by Netlify, which hosts this website and provides its form service. Enquiry notifications and correspondence are handled through Namecheap Private Email and Google Gmail. The website also requests font files from Google Fonts, which may receive technical connection information such as an IP address. These providers act under their own security and data-protection arrangements and may process information outside the United Kingdom using applicable safeguards.

We do not sell personal information. We may disclose it where legally required or where reasonably necessary to protect our rights, systems or users.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become projects are normally deleted within 12 months. If you become a client, relevant correspondence, contracts, invoices and project records may be retained for up to six years where needed for tax, accounting, legal or business-record purposes. Information may be deleted sooner when it is no longer required.

Cookies and analytics

This website does not currently use advertising cookies or visitor analytics. We therefore do not currently display a cookie-consent banner. Our hosting provider may still process essential technical logs to deliver and secure the site. If non-essential cookies or analytics are added later, this notice and the website's consent controls will be updated first.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law may give you rights to access, correct or delete your information; restrict or object to its use; and receive certain information in a portable format. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it.

Concerns and complaints

Please contact us first if you have a privacy concern so we can try to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office through ico.org.uk.
